Bravery

I very often read or hear sentiments such as: "I got brave and cut my hair."
Does that mean that all of those with long, luscious locks are not simply sporting the 'do best for them, but are in reality cowards?
Would that I had known all these years...

Haha! Coward! I wish I had a chance to be a coward. My hair REFUSES to grow!

I recently read an article about a friend who shaved her head in support of the empowerment of women and documented it with her photography. It even made the news. Yet, I find that my long locks empower me way more than the idea of a shaved head. Sure I could do it, but what would I be giving up in the name of empowerment? I'd still let it grow back. I really only saw it as a statement that you'd later cry over in the shower. Sure it was brave for them at the time, but I'm pretty sure they lost their bravery when they realized they have to wear make-up to feel feminine again. I'm with you. I think it's just as brave to let your locks grow long and lush and wear the look of a beautiful woman.
