F - Word

"Friends."

There, I said it. (negative connotation only applies to members of the opposite sex)
Does that count as swearing? :-)

Every time I find myself being "Buddified" by some other wonderful young man, I want to scream, "I DON'T NEED ANOTHER BUDDY!"

The thing is, I have long known that most of my experiences regarding relationships with others in my life are not about me. Perhaps I don't need another buddy, but for whatever reason, that person needs me.

For each relationship we develop, let us ask ourselves, not what we can get, but, "What do I have that this person needs? How do I find out? How can I best help this person to be the person their Heavenly Father wants them to be?"

And perhaps, when I have touched the lives of those I could only touch by being single in this state of my life, I will be blessed enough to find my eternal "buddy." :-)

Maybe it's time to lock up the pantry. :)

The problem with that is that I L-O-V-E to cook and I am single and I live alone and I want to cook and bake all these wonderful things, but I have no one to share with! I consider it sharing my talents. I'm not a food slut. Once people started referring to me as, "the girl with the cookies" pertaining to the leftover choir cookies, I stopped making extras and stopped distributing the leftovers - they go straight to my car.

I know. And you're great at it. I hope you don't take that comment the wrong way. I was just thinking about dating and it reminded me of Elder Oaks' talk.

What's wrong with us singles? Where have we gone wrong?

I'm sorry Larissa...but I think we should just be friends.

Shayla - go suck a...sucker?
Jake, I know exactly what talk you are speaking of, because it hit me to the very core. There is some complex some of us had called, "If I don't feed them, they won't come." FORTUNATELY, I don't haven't had that complex ever since that talk - I took it to heart!
